I have always been a geek towards peak performance concepts and techniques. The classes at CA are based on cutting edge research that is not found anywhere else.

Recently, I went to an auditon and using the performance tools I learnt in class, I was able to ace a cold script with 10 minutes of preparation.

I’m just going to start off by saying that even with everything I write here, it still won’t do Joel and Kylie enough justice. Creating Artists have impacted my acting and the acting world forever. Not only have they created concepts that truly embrace the truth behind acting, but they embrace everyone else’s truth as well. From the very first workshop I did with them I knew I’d sealed my (and their) fate - they were stuck with me. With all his experience and wealth of knowledge, Joel has crafted simple, yet efficient techniques, that his students are then able to take away and implement. I’ve understood concepts in “theory”, but I’ve never actually been able to accomplish them on screen, until Joel’s classes.

The 12 Concepts Crash Course with Creating Artists has most certainly had a transformative, positive impact on myself as a person and my capabilities as an actor.

What makes this course so unique is how the concepts are made up of theoretical knowledge and actual psychological research. Having studied psychology myself, I found that there were many useful links between it and acting; what we go through as ourselves as actors… and the art of portraying a ‘true’ human experience. Joel and Kylie do push to you to discover and unleash your capabilities, but in the most trusting and supportive of environments. I found the concepts to be more relevant than anything I have learnt in the past as they consider both schools of teaching. The adaptability of the concepts also mean that as an actor, I can continue to apply them and mould them to suit my needs moving forward in my career.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter where you are in your acting journey, from beginners to pro’s, I cannot recommend Creating Artist’s ’12 Concepts Course’ enough. I’ll be back for more!
